My family and I have attended many of Alan Reeves events, mainly the Hoedowns and 80s nights at the RSA.Words really can’t express how fabulous these events are and how much fun and joy they bring to everyone.

Alan creates a warm, friendly, inclusive and fun atmosphere, gets to know most people by name and is always keen to personalise the night to whatever requests or games people want.

The Hoedowns are a favourite with line dancers and the other nights are great for any kind of dancing. Rarely have I been to an event that is so much fun that everyone leaves with smiles on their faces and a joy in their hearts. Alan is so helpful and approachable at creating exactly the type of event you want and has a special talent for bringing everyone together, so he is a perfect choice for birthdays or social gatherings.

Alan, also known as “Going Bananas,” is a fantastic entertainer who brings a lot of energy and joy to the events he hosts. The fact that the residents in our village (Summerset Milldale) look forward to his Coasties Quiz at the RSA in Whangaparaoa and also enjoy his visits to our Village is a testament to his ability to connect with people and create a fun atmosphere.Alan is able to get everyone involved, even the staff, and he’s particularly good with the residents. The image of everyone playing air guitar and dancing together is wonderful, and it’s clear that Alan has a special talent for bringing people together and creating memorable experiences.

Alan thank you for hosting a Quiz night for our whole school team-building event. You achieved full crowd participation and even some dancing. I loved how our team was able to relax, laugh and have a wonderful time. . Thank you for your professional service.

We chose Going Bananas Quiz Master Alan Reeves to run our Quiz night Fund Raiser. We had a huge turnout and the whole night was so much fun. the rounds of questions were well thought out and kept everyone guessing. Alan was very professional and obviously put a lot of thought into the whole night. He provided everything  including the sound system, microphone , answer sheets and pens. We have no hesitation in recommending  him for your next Quiz night.

On Saturday 14 January 2023 we held our wedding at Windy Ridge Te Awamutu.

We employed the services of Alan Reeves from Going Bananas as our MC and DJ.

We knew about Alan as he had D J ed my sisters wedding 6 years previously and did a brilliant job.

On the day Alan set up his sound system outside in the garden and played background music before the ceremony started.

He nailed all the songs for walking up the aisle, register and walking back up the aisle.

Alan and then set up his gear for the reception and while we were away for photographs he played background music which was very well received.

Upon returning he played the song we had for entrance to reception and then introduced all the speakers. Not only did he introduce the speakers but had a special song for each one which the audience loved.

During the dinner Alan played very nice background music.

He then set up for the wedding party and what a party it was!

All the guests loved it! We had the shoe game, we had the married couples dance, we had throwing the Boquet and we had removing the garter and even at one stage we had a country hoe down!

The party was brilliant and the dancefloor was packed. He managed to get people involved and our guests had so much fun.

Alan Reeves and Going Bananas has our highest recommendation. If you intend to have a wedding which your guests will remember then he is your man!

We had the best day of our lives. We thought you did such an excellent job and we had so many comments from our guests confirming the same. We all particularly loved your skill at getting all the guests on the dance floor, your flexibility throughout the night and of course your great taste in music. You made the whole process so easy for us from start to finish, from the helpful list of songs you provided at the beginning, your responsiveness to our questions throughout the planning process and your presence on the day, your took our event to the next level!!
